How to Activate the Bass Booster on Your iPhone

Want your music to hit harder? Every jmobbi music player ships with a built-in equalizer and a ready-made Bass Booster preset, so you can add deeper, punchier low end in seconds. This works the same way in GoPlayer, Musicbox, MPlayer, YaPlayer and FirePlayer — here's how to switch it on.

What you'll need

Step-by-step: turn on the bass booster

  1. Start playing a track. Open your jmobbi music player (GoPlayer, Musicbox, MPlayer, YaPlayer or FirePlayer) and begin playback of any song.
  2. Open the Audio Player. Tap into the Audio Player screen to bring up the now-playing controls.
  3. Open the equalizer. Tap the Equalizer icon at the bottom of the screen.
  4. Turn the equalizer on. Flip the equalizer toggle on so it starts shaping the sound.
  5. Boost the bass. Choose the "Bass Booster" preset, or raise the low-frequency band sliders (around 32–125 Hz) for deeper, punchier bass.
  6. Adjust to taste. Fine-tune the sliders until it sounds right — the setting applies across your whole library.

Tip: Very high bass can distort on some earbuds and speakers. If you hear clipping or crackling, ease off the low-frequency sliders until the sound is clean again.

Why use the equalizer?

The equalizer lets you tailor playback to your headphones, your speakers and your ears. A little extra low end brings warmth and impact to bass-heavy tracks, while the wider band controls let you tame harsh highs or add clarity. It's the fastest way to make every song in your library sound the way you want.

Frequently asked questions

Which jmobbi music players have a bass booster?

All of the jmobbi music players include a built-in equalizer with a Bass Booster preset: GoPlayer, Musicbox, MPlayer, YaPlayer and FirePlayer. The steps to turn it on are the same in every app.

Is the bass booster free to use?

Yes. The equalizer and the Bass Booster preset are built into the jmobbi music players at no extra cost, so you can boost your bass without any additional purchase.

Which frequencies should I raise for more bass?

For deeper, punchier bass, raise the low-frequency band sliders in the roughly 32–125 Hz range. The lowest bands (around 32–60 Hz) add sub-bass rumble, while 60–125 Hz adds body and punch.

Why does my audio distort when the bass is too high, and how do I fix it?

Pushing the low-frequency sliders too high can overload your headphones or speakers, causing clipping, crackling or distortion. Fix it by easing the bass sliders back down and lowering the overall volume slightly until the sound is clean again.

Does the bass booster work with wired headphones, Bluetooth and AirPlay?

Yes. The equalizer processes the audio before it is sent to your output device, so the Bass Booster works with wired headphones, Bluetooth earbuds and speakers, and AirPlay.

Do my equalizer settings stay applied across all tracks?

Yes. Once you turn the equalizer on and choose your bass settings, they apply across your whole library, so every track plays with the same boosted bass until you change or turn off the equalizer.

Does the bass booster work on iPhone, iPad and Mac?

Yes. The jmobbi music players and their bass booster work on iPhone, iPad and Mac, and the equalizer steps are the same on each device.
