FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is MPlayer free to download?

Yes. MPlayer is completely free to download from the App Store and runs on both iPhone and iPad.

What is MPlayer?

MPlayer is a dedicated music player for your MEGA.NZ account. It lets you stream your tracks on demand or download them for offline listening, build playlists, and shape your sound with a built-in equalizer. Your library is neatly organized by artist, album, genre and composer, and you get extras like gapless playback, crossfade, and streaming to Chromecast and AirPlay.

How does MPlayer work?

Once you connect your MEGA.NZ account, MPlayer gives you full access to the music stored there.

  • Stream any song instantly, or download it to keep for offline playback.
  • Play a wide range of audio formats without converting anything first.
  • Organize your music into playlists and fine-tune the sound with the equalizer.
  • Cast to Chromecast or AirPlay, and even import audio files stored locally on your device.
Is MPlayer safe to use?

Yes. MPlayer relies on secure SDKs and encrypted connections, and your MEGA.NZ credentials are never stored inside the app. All sign-in happens on MEGA.NZ's own official pages, after which a secure authorization token is kept on your device to maintain the connection. You can revoke that token at any time from your MEGA.NZ account in a web browser. Any music you download is saved in the app's own Documents folder and can be removed with a file manager. Disconnecting your account or uninstalling MPlayer removes the stored tokens and downloaded files.
